The Bashford BH41 is a 41-foot fiberglass racer-cruiser built in 1994, combining a displacement hull with a fin keel designed for both speed and stability. The boat traces its lineage to an ILC 40 hull design by Iain Murray, with a deck layout developed to meet IMS Cruiser Racer specifications. The fiberglass laminates follow American Bureau of Shipping scantlings for a strong yet light structure.
Powered by a single Yanmar 3JH5E diesel inboard engine producing 37.28 horsepower, the yacht handles responsively across different conditions. An electric windlass is fitted to assist with anchoring operations. The practical, user-friendly deck layout supports both competitive sailing and cruising use.
The design proved itself from its 1994 launch, with hull #2 winning the 50th Sydney Hobart Yacht Race outright against a fleet of nearly 500 entries. This example is a well-maintained boat ready for active use.
