1994 Farr Farr 40 ILC

This 1994 Farr 40 ILC is a purpose-built racing yacht constructed from composite carbon fiber and foam, originally commissioned for competitive grand prix sailing. The design proved its pedigree through successful campaigns in world-class events including the Admiral's Cup and ILC 40 Worlds. At 42 feet in length with a 13-foot beam, the yacht combines the performance characteristics of an International Level Class boat with proven competitive credentials.

The yacht has undergone substantial recent renovation. The rig features a new carbon spar with swept spreaders and removal of running backstays, paired with a carbon fixed bowsprit. The rudder is carbon construction with tubercles. All exterior surfaces—topsides, decks, and nonskid—have been refinished with two-part polyurethane paint, along with interior surfaces forward of the aft bulkhead. The bottom has been faired. Stanchions are E-glass.

Systems have been modernized throughout. Lighting has been converted to LED. Navigation and electronics include a B&G plotter with three mast-head displays. Power comes from a single Yanmar diesel engine of 27 horsepower, providing a cruising speed of 7.3 knots. The boat accommodates one cabin with one head, suited to its racing-focused design. In overall condition, the yacht presents cleanly and is ready for competitive sailing.
