Built in 1994 by John Williams, the Stanley 36 is a traditional Downeast-style cruiser finished in Flag Blue hull with Matterhorn White boot stripe and red bottom. The boat features extensive teak throughout—decking, toe rail, hand rails, transom, and swim platform—along with a varnished spruce mast and white deckhouse with buff cabin top. She is powered by a single Caterpillar 3208TA turbocharged diesel producing 375 hp, paired with a Twin Disc 2:1 reduction gear and shaft-drive Evolution system designed to minimize vibration and noise. The engine has logged 1,134 hours.
The helm occupies the bridge deck, reached by three steps, and features a hard top with drop-down Isinglass enclosure. All deck surfaces are laid teak. Navigation electronics include a 2025 Garmin chartplotter with GPS, Furuno radar, 2025 ICOM VHF radio, Brooks & Gatehouse instruments for speed, depth, and wind data, and compass. The boat is equipped with hydraulic steering, 12-volt anchor windlass with 35 lb CQR anchor, and a spreader light searchlight mounted on the cabin top.
The accommodations sleep two, with V-berths forward that convert to a large double with filler, and port and starboard settees aft with a centerline drop-leaf table that seats four. Interior finishes include white painted bulkheads, varnished trim and cabinetry, and teak-and-holly cabin sole. The galley to port includes a three-burner propane stove, top-loading cooler, microwave, and stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressure water. The head to starboard features a 2025 new Tecma electric unit. A 12-gallon hot water heater serves both shore power and engine heating.
In 2007, the boat received new teak decks in the cockpit and helm deck, a new main electrical panel, bow thruster installation, and upgraded spreader and running lights. Current systems include automatic engine-compartment fire suppression with remote helm control, dual bilge pumps, two battery banks with parallel switch, Professional Mariner battery charger, and 110 VAC shore power capability alongside 12 VDC ship's power.
