1994 Viking 43 Open New Engines

The 1994 Viking 43 Open is a fiberglass sportfish powered by twin Caterpillar C7.1 diesel engines producing 500 hp each, with 480 hours on the motors. The boat cruises at 24–25 knots and reaches 28–31 knots at wide open throttle. Recently rebuilt with new transmissions, propellers, shafts, and rudders, along with a new Optimus Fly-by-Wire steering system and repositioned helm with dual Simrad NSS displays and a full suite of modern electronics including radar, autopilot, and digital engine monitoring. A 52-inch dropdown cockpit television integrates with the Simrad system for live sonar viewing while fishing.

The yacht accommodates overnight guests in a single stateroom with one head, featuring a spacious salon with U-shaped settee and a full galley. The bridge deck is enclosed and outfitted with seating for eight or more. The open cockpit is tournament-equipped with a top-loading freezer, tackle center, baitwell, and removable fish box. A professional Pipe Welders tuna tower includes an upper helm station, Cannon Optimum downriggers, fighting chair, and a hydraulic outrigger extender system.

Mechanical systems received extensive attention: fuel tanks were polished, new trim tab cylinders and hoses installed, steering overhauled, and a HullShield ultrasonic antifouling system added. The engine room was refinished and features new lighting, immaculate organization, and a custom lithium inverter system with Victron batteries that allows air conditioning to run independent of the generator—a notable modernization for a boat of this vintage. Additional updates include a Starlink internet connection, a BRNKL Blue Boat monitoring system with three cameras, new air conditioning, and a 10-person life raft. The cockpit and bridge enclosure were updated in 2025, and the hull received new bottom paint and zincs.
