1995 Albin 28 Tournament Express

The 1995 Albin 28 Tournament Express is a Downeast-style cruiser built on a solid fiberglass, foam-cored hull with a modified-vee shape, flared bow, and skeg-protected rudder. At 28 feet in length and 10 feet in beam, the boat draws 3 feet 3 inches and carries 132 gallons of fuel and 36 gallons of fresh water. A single Cummins 6BTA diesel engine rated at 250 horsepower powers the yacht, with 830 hours on the engine. The hull design provides stability in rough conditions, and a bow thruster aids maneuvering in confined spaces.

The large cockpit suits fishing and entertaining, fitted with a baitwell, rod holders, and a swim platform added in 2018. The raised pilothouse houses the helm station with companion seating and offers good visibility. Topside electronics include a Lowrance HDS 8 Gen 2 chartplotter, 4G radar, GPS, depth sounder, and SIMRAD autopilot. A Standard Horizon Eclipse VHF radio, Hawkeye depth gauge, and NMEA 2000 network round out the navigation suite.

Below deck, the cabin sleeps up to four with a V-berth convertible to dinette seating, a quarter berth, opening portholes, and an overhead hatch. The galley includes a cook top, Norcold refrigerator, and microwave. An enclosed head with marine toilet, sink, and shower serves the accommodations. A 12,000 BTU Webasto air-conditioning unit provides climate control.

The boat has undergone extensive maintenance and upgrades from 2017 through 2024, including running gear overhaul, bottom blasting and repainting, hull ceramic coating, new bow thruster components, cutlass bearing and dripless shaft seal replacement, windlass replacement, and recent A/C unit installation.
