1995 Freedom 35

The Freedom 35 is a David Pedrick design built for comfortable, manageable cruising. This 1995 model combines the design's signature simplicity with a free-standing carbon mast that requires no standing rigging, making it ideal for shorthanded sailing. The self-tacking jib and lines led aft keep sail handling straightforward, while the spacious center cockpit offers excellent visibility and security. The boat sits on a solid fiberglass hull with shoal draft, powered by a well-maintained Yanmar 3GM diesel.

The interior layout spans two cabins with generous storage throughout, designed for extended time aboard. Below decks is warm and thoughtfully arranged for cruising comfort. Topside, the rigging is clean and purposeful—every element designed to reduce complexity without sacrificing performance.

Recent years have seen extensive mechanical updates and maintenance. Engine systems were thoroughly refreshed, including new cockpit panel, wiring harness, and controls. The fuel system received new primary and secondary filters. Electrical infrastructure was overhauled with rewired DC primary circuits, new breaker and battery panels, and a charge relay system. New Raymarine instruments for wind, speed, and depth were installed with dedicated power and mast wiring to support them.

Rigging and sail plan received comprehensive attention: new halyards, mainsheet, traveler lines, boom vang, and jib sheets; fresh reef hardware with new blocks; new 110% jib with hanks; and a new headstay with turnbuckle. The boom received new blocks, and the Harken bat car system was serviced. Mast systems include a new Spartite wedge installation, rewired mast with new VHF coax, antenna, and LED deck and steaming lights. A fresh bottom with Interprotect 2000E barrier coat was applied in 2025. New self-tacking jib installed in 2024.
