This 1995 Hallett 270 is a 27-foot high-performance boat with a custom 601-cubic-inch big-block engine built by Larry's Engine and Marine, producing 674 horsepower and 725 pounds of torque. The engine has 117 hours since rebuild and includes dyno documentation. A new Mercruiser XZ drive was installed over the winter, and the boat underwent a full inspection by Barron Boats in Azusa. Updated systems include new gauges, steering wheel, and IMCO dual-ram hydraulic steering. The boat runs fast and reliable, with speeds exceeding 75 mph. It accepts either 26-pitch or 28-pitch props depending on load.
The boat features an open-bow conversion completed approximately 12 years ago by AKRO in Lake Havasu. The cabin and open-bow interior are in excellent condition. The fiberglass gel coat remains in strong shape. The cockpit interior is original and in decent condition.
Sound equipment throughout includes all JL Audio speakers: four 6.5-inch speakers, two 6x9-inch speakers mounted under the rear seat, and one 12-inch subwoofer beneath the passenger seat, all powered by a five-channel high-output amplifier. Recent maintenance included a full tune-up and two new batteries installed. The boat has been stored indoors and includes a cockpit and bow snap-in cover plus a full towable cover. A single-axle trailer with recently upgraded electric-over-hydraulic brakes is included.
