This 1995 Warwick 53 Pilothouse is a custom-built sailing yacht designed by Alan Warwick and built by Salthouse Boatbuilders. The fiberglass hull incorporates a deeper, heavier lead keel that increases the righting moment by 14%, enhancing stability in heavy seas. The defining feature is the pilothouse configuration with an internal helm station offering all-round visibility, paired with a shallow saloon floor that floods the interior with natural light and creates an open, bright living environment.
The yacht accommodates three cabins and two heads, laid out to maximize comfort during extended offshore cruising. The pilothouse design maintains a strong connection to the sea while providing weather protection at the helm. The shallow saloon configuration means living spaces benefit from elevated sightlines and abundant daylight.
The yacht is powered by a single 140 hp Yanmar diesel engine. Premium systems throughout have been selected with redundancy for offshore reliability. A full engine rebuild was completed in July 2023. The rig received a complete service with new rod rigging in 2021, and the hull underwent full repaint and brightwork that same year. Batteries were upgraded in 2021, and radar and electronic systems have been upgraded through 2023. These upgrades maintain the yacht's readiness for serious long-distance cruising.
