This 1996 Cantiere Azzurro 16 is a 53-foot displacement motor yacht built from teak and iroko by master shipwright Giordano Rosati. Her design merges traditional fishing boat construction with yacht comfort, powered by two Caterpillar diesel engines delivering 700 horsepower combined. She cruises at 9.5 knots and reaches 12.5 knots, with fuel consumption around 16 liters per hour at 7 knots and 38 liters per hour at 10 knots. Stabilizers aid comfort underway.
The layout includes three double cabins and two heads, with hot and cold air conditioning throughout and strong sound insulation. The interior and exterior woodwork showcase classic craftsmanship, with interior finishes maintained using dedicated oils and exterior varnish regularly refreshed. Additional refinements include a telescopic awning on the flybridge, hydraulic gangway, swim ladder, and a silent refrigeration compressor mounted in the hold.
Between 2021 and 2024, significant work was undertaken: the underwater hull was restored, the teak deck fully replaced with cork insulation underneath, and both engines and transmissions completely overhauled. The boat has had three owners across its life, all of whom maintained her carefully. Long-term maintenance has been documented comprehensively by the same trusted shipyard. Work ahead includes restoration of the flybridge teak and inspection of radar controls and autopilot systems.
