1996 Chaparral Signature 31

The 1996 Chaparral Signature 31 is a well-equipped express cruiser built on a fiberglass hull. Twin Mercruiser 5.7-liter engines with Bravo 3 outdrives and fewer than 500 hours deliver cruising at 20 knots and a top speed of 32 knots. A 5 kW Westerbeke generator supports extended cruising, with air conditioning and heat for comfort. The boat features trim tabs and a comprehensive electronics package including a Garmin chartplotter with fishfinder, Raymarine VHF radio, and Humminbird depth sounder.

The cockpit is entered through an integral fiberglass platform with a transom walk-through door and opens to a spacious layout. A retractable aft bench seat, wrap-around raised seating to port, and helm bench seat to starboard provide flexibility, all protected by a full canvas and isinglass enclosure with screens. A large walk-through windshield accesses the foredeck, and the swim platform includes hot and cold washdown shower. Deck amenities include a Magma LPG grill, Horizon electric windlass with dual controls, radar arch, and spotlight.

Below deck, the main cabin offers a forward berth with 22-inch television, a well-appointed galley along the port side with electric two-burner stove, refrigerator, microwave, and pressurized hot and cold water, and a convertible wrap-around dinette to starboard. A guest mid-cabin sits aft under the cockpit sole. The head includes an electric system and vanity, with abundant storage throughout. A Samsung smart television sits in the main cabin, and a Pioneer Bluetooth stereo with cabin and cockpit speakers provide entertainment.

Recent service completed in late 2023 and 2024 included a haul-out with fresh bottom paint, anodes, outdrive service and painting, prop tuning, engine servicing, and generator servicing. The electrical system runs 120VAC and 12VDC power with five 12-volt batteries replaced in 2023, a Pro Mariner 30 charger, and 30-amp shore power capability with a 25-foot cord.
