1996 Custom Fast RoPax Ferry
About This Yacht
This 654-foot RoPax ferry was built in 1996 by IHI in Tokyo and designed to operate as a coastal night ferry. The steel hull measures 17,345 gross tons with a beam of 82 feet, and is equipped with two Pielstick diesel engines producing 64,800 horsepower combined. The ferry achieves a maximum speed of 29.6 knots and cruises at 28 knots, making it among the fastest vessels in its class. Power generation is supported by three auxiliary engines, shaft generators, and emergency backup. The yacht carries roll-on/roll-off vehicle and passenger cargo, with capacity for 122 trucks and 80 cars accessed via stern and side ramps.
The accommodation layout supports 507 passengers and crew across six decks. Below-deck berths provide 106 sleeping spaces across 40 suites and deluxe cabins, while additional seating capacity is divided between first and second class public areas. The design includes a crew complement of 38 and driver quarters for 32 personnel.
The vessel is fitted with active stabilization systems by Blohm & Voss, twin bow and stern thrusters for maneuverability, and controllable-pitch propellers. All propulsion and auxiliary machinery is in working order following recent Defense Department contract service.
