2000 Custom 425' Geared Multi-Purpose Dry Cargo Vessel
About This Yacht
This 425-foot multipurpose dry cargo vessel was built by Damen Shipyards in the Netherlands in 2000. The steel-hulled ship displaces 12,890 metric tons and carries a deadweight of 9,623 tons. It is DNV Class certified and equipped for the carriage of dangerous goods in accordance with IMDG code.
The vessel features two cargo holds with a total grain capacity of approximately 12,742 cubic meters without tween deck covers, or 12,250 cubic meters with them installed. It can be configured for bulk cargo, grain, or containers—up to 562 TEU total (262 TEU in holds, 300 TEU on deck). Two adjustable pontoon tween decks allow flexible compartmentalization. The ship carries 60 reefer plugs for refrigerated cargo. Paired Liebherr cranes mounted on the starboard side provide cargo-handling capability: each crane reaches 60 metric tons at 16 meters outreach, and the two cranes are combinable for lifts up to 120 metric tons. Fourteen MacGregor pontoon hatches service the cargo spaces.
Power comes from a single MAK 9 M32 main engine rated at 4,320 kilowatts, with three Caterpillar auxiliary engines and a 400-kilowatt bow thruster. The vessel achieves 11 to 12 knots depending on fuel consumption, with fuel oil capacity of 534 cubic meters. Ballast water treatment system is fitted. Additional capacities include 146 cubic meters of diesel oil, 76 cubic meters of fresh water, and 3,661 cubic meters of ballast water.
