1996 Oldport Marine 26

Kaymar is a 1996 Oldport Marine 26, a center console cruiser built on a full keel, semi-displacement hull in the classic Down-east style. The design features a high flared entry, built-in spray rails, and a wide 9-foot-2-inch beam that carries back to the transom, creating a stable, roomy platform with high shear forward that tapers gracefully aft. The boat is highly maneuverable and can turn in its own length. The hull is hand-laid fiberglass, awlgripped in 2025.

Power comes from a Yanmar 4JH2-DT turbocharged diesel engine producing 88 horsepower with approximately 1,012 hours recorded as of August 2025. The engine cruises comfortably at 12 knots and is known for fuel efficiency.

The accommodations include a forward cuddy with a V-berth and cushions, LED reading lights, and teak-trimmed storage shelves on both port and starboard. Additional storage comprises two cabinets with teak doors and counters, one fitted with a spigot connected to a 6.5-gallon freshwater container. Four portholes and a Lewmar hatch with screen provide ventilation and natural light. A portable head stows securely beneath the cockpit behind lockable teak entry doors.

The helmsman's station sits aft of the engine box and houses hydraulic steering, engine controls, a Ritchie compass, VHF radio, engine gauges, and chart plotter. A 5-circuit electrical panel with weather cover is mounted at the station. The engine box includes soundproofing and recessed handles, topped with a cushioned seat. Aft of that sits the helmsman's seat with teak storage doors accessing space for a 12-volt battery and other equipment. Two aft cockpit scuppers and an automatic bilge pump manage water management.
