This 1996 Simpson Inspiration is a 34-foot catamaran designed by Roger Simpson and built in Australia by Bruce Roberts and Glasscraft Marine. The fiberglass hull spans nearly 20 feet in beam, providing the stability and interior volume typical of the type. Twin Yanmar 2GM20 diesel engines deliver 18 horsepower each, with a cruising speed of 5 knots and a maximum speed of 6 knots.
The layout below deck comprises three cabins: two forward double berths, a port aft double, and a starboard single berth, along with one head. The saloon is bright and spacious, seating eight comfortably, with a galley on the port side and a protected cockpit for outdoor use.
Recent upgrades have substantially enhanced the boat's systems and self-sufficiency. A new Termodinamica air-conditioning system, M-GV5 Piccolo 4.4kVA generator, C-Zone digital switching, four 265-watt solar panels, and over 1,000 amps of Winston lithium batteries have been installed. Navigation equipment has been fully renewed with a new instrument suite. A Spectra watermaker and custom davits with an integrated solar array stern arch improve off-grid capability. All through-hull fittings and valves have been recently replaced.
