1997 Beneteau First 36s7

The 1997 Beneteau First 36s7 is a 36-foot fiberglass cruising sailboat with a proven track record on both Lake Michigan and freshwater lakes. Built to sail responsively in light and heavy conditions, she features a 12.4-foot beam, 6.1-foot draft, and a single Yanmar 3GM 30 diesel engine with approximately 700 hours. The boat's sail plan is comprehensive and well-maintained: original sails, a 2017 North Nordac full batten mainsail with lazy bag, a 2023 North NORLAM 155% furling genoa, and both symmetrical and asymmetrical spinnakers. New running rigging is scheduled for 2026 installation. Additional deck equipment includes a hydraulic backstay adjuster, whisker pole, MAX PROP, Fortress anchor with rode, propane grill, wash down pump, cockpit cushions, full Dodger and Bimini with winch and wheel covers.

Below decks, the boat offers two cabins and a single head with pump-out and large holding tank. The galley is fully equipped with two stainless steel sinks, hot and cold water, refrigerator/freezer, and a two-burner propane stove with oven. Navigation is supported by a dedicated chart table and NEXUS/Garmin instruments displaying wind, speed, and depth data. Power is provided by two large deep cycle house batteries and one starting battery.

The boat shows excellent freshwater condition throughout. The hull is waxed annually and has received new VC17 bottom paint applied yearly, presenting a finish newer than the boat's age would suggest. A cradle is included with the sale, with a road trailer available separately.
