The 1997 Cobalt 253 is a 25-foot cuddy cabin built on a fiberglass hull with Kevlar reinforcement. Powered by a Volvo Penta 8.2L V8 engine producing 415 horsepower, the boat has been repowered with less than 100 hours and features a newer Volvo Penta sterndrive. A new camshaft was installed as part of the recent engine work. The boat carries 70 gallons of fuel and runs on 87-octane gasoline.
The cuddy cabin sleeps two with a V-berth fitted with new upholstery. The cockpit features swivel bucket seats with thigh-rise bolsters forward and an aft bench with seating for four, also with new upholstery. Freshly cleaned carpets run throughout the interior. Additional equipment includes a Bimini top and swim platform.
The hull and systems have been protected through marina lift-storage since 2011. Recent updates to the interior and drivetrain include new upholstery, cleaned carpets, and the complete engine and outdrive replacement. The boat's fiberglass construction with Kevlar reinforcement and Cobalt's design are built to handle rough water conditions.
