The Dufour 50 Classic is a composite-hulled cruising sailboat built in 1997, designed by Berret-Racoupeau. At 50 feet in length with a 15-foot beam, she combines substantial size with manageable proportions for extended cruising. Powered by a Volvo D2-75 diesel engine with 4,110 hours at the time of listing, the boat is equipped with a ZF transmission, shaft drive, and three-blade propeller. The engine has seen recent attention: the turbo was replaced in 2024, the shaft gland and cutlass bearing were both replaced in June 2023, and the transmission was serviced in 2024.
Accommodation spans five cabins arranged as one forward double cabin, two aft double cabins, and two lateral single-bunk cabins, offering 11 berths total. Three heads serve the layout, including two with showers and a separate shower compartment forward. The galley runs along the port side and features a twin stainless steel sink, two gas burners, and both hot and cold pressure water. A water heater powered by shore power and engine exchanger, plus a 12-volt refrigerator, support daily comfort. Total fuel and freshwater tankage each measure 600 liters.
The sailplan includes a full-batten mainsail from 2018, cutter staysail, and a Pro Furl furling genoa backed by two ST 48 and two ST 64 winches. A spinnaker with socket gear is also aboard. Standing rigging was inspected in 2020. Deck equipment includes an electric Lofrans windlass, bow thruster, sprayhood, swimming platform with folding stern ladder, and hot and cold cockpit shower. Navigation electronics comprise Furuno radar, Raymarine ST60 Tri-Data, Raymarine ST6002 autopilot, Raymarine VHF with DSC, and AIS transceiver. Solar panels and a wind vane support power management, alongside three Optima service batteries installed in 2022.
Safety gear includes two liferafts (8-person Plastimo and 4-person Bombard, serviced in 2025), automatic lifejackets, a 20-kg Kobra anchor with 40 meters of chain, and both automatic and manual bilge pumps. A 2.6-meter tender from 2022 with a 4-horsepower Yamaha engine from 2014 completes the inventory.
