1997 MacGregor 26X
About This Yacht
This 1997 MacGregor 26X is a 26-foot fiberglass motor yacht built around an innovative water ballast system for sailing stability. Without ballast, the boat weighs considerably less, making it easily transportable on the included galvanized four-wheel trailer. Power comes from a 50-horsepower Evinrude outboard engine fitted in 2000. The boat reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots and cruises at 6 knots.
Below deck, accommodation is arranged for four adults. The boat includes an enclosed head with a sink and a portable toilet for basic sanitation. The interior provides functional sleeping and living space suited to coastal cruising and day outings.
The boat has been stored on land in an RV parking area for the past five years and has not been sailed during this time. The engine's fuel injection pump was replaced, though the engine has not been run since that work. Any recommissioning will require inspection and testing before use.
