The 1997 Maxum 4600 Custom SCB is a 46-foot fiberglass motor yacht built on a proven design and extensively rebuilt with custom modifications. Twin Cummins 8.1L diesel engines produce 840 horsepower combined and have logged just 1,500 hours. The boat features an unusually spacious custom enclosed flybridge with 6'3" headroom, accessed from the cockpit via molded steps. The hull has been extended to improve stability, buoyancy, and fuel economy.
The saloon and accommodations have been extensively rebuilt to residential standards. The galley was redesigned with upgraded appliances, and the boat is fitted with reverse-cycle air conditioning and heating, a Webasto heat pump system, and a 12.5 kw Westerbeke generator in a sound shield. Side Power bow and stern thrusters with dock control are installed. A Trace 2000-watt inverter provides auxiliary power. Raytheon electronics are fitted throughout.
The deck has been completely re-gelcoated and finished with non-skid polyurethane. Heat exchangers were replaced in 2023. An underwater exhaust system is fitted. The boat comes with a 13-foot Aksano fiberglass center console catamaran dinghy powered by a 50-horsepower Yamaha outboard, launched via davit from the swim step. Two heads are on board.
