1997 Sparkman & Stephens 12M

Enterprise is a 1977 Sparkman & Stephens–designed 12 Metre, built by Minneford Yacht Yard as an America's Cup defender candidate. At 66 feet on deck with a 12-foot-5-inch beam, she displaces 25.7 tonnes and carries 1,808 square feet of sail area. Designed by Olin Stephens and David Pedrick, she incorporated advanced tank testing and early laminate sail development for her era.

Between 2019 and 2023, Enterprise underwent comprehensive restoration and modernization. The keel was removed, reworked to class templates, and the bottom faired. A new trim tab, rudder, and rudder flaps were installed, with lead added to the trim tab for balance. The deck was professionally repainted. New carbon drive shafts, mainsheet overdrive with first-gear lockout, and a Moore Brothers high-modulus carbon boom were added. Kevlar backstays, new halyards and running rigging, and serviced winches, hydraulics, and rudder bearings complete the systems overhaul.

The boat carries an extensive racing inventory: two 2023 Max E mainsails plus a 2021 Max E and 2019 shorter E, along with a spare boom. Headsails include a 2023 G1 Superlight, multiple G1s and G2s from 2023, a G3, and older sails from 2021 and 2019. Spinnaker options span S43, S46, and S49 cuts from both 2023 and 2019, with specialty sails including a spinnaker staysail and A1.5. Enterprise finished second in the Modern Division at the 2019 12 Metre World Championships and carries multiple race wins to her record.
