This 1998 Defender Cruiser is a 55-foot fiberglass cruiser built for island waters. Twin Caterpillar 3406 diesel engines deliver 550 horsepower each, with a shallow draft of 3.5 feet and prop pocket tunnels suited to coastal cruising. The boat cruises at fifteen knots and carries 1200 gallons of fuel across four fiberglass tanks. Notable systems include a 21-kilowatt generator, reverse osmosis water maker producing 500 gallons per day, bow thruster, and comprehensive battery and charging infrastructure.
The interior combines open living spaces with substantial outdoor areas. The salon features an L-shaped couch, 42-inch flat-screen television, galley with stove and oven, and two refrigerators plus freezer and ice maker. The master stateroom includes an en suite head, flat-screen television, and DVD player with new air conditioning and carpet. A forward cabin offers four bunks and a separate head. Two additional heads serve the boat. The flybridge includes an air-conditioned helm station with full Eisenglass enclosure, and a full-size washer and propane dryer are installed nearby. Large covered deck spaces and an extended Bimini top provide shade throughout.
Electronics encompass twin Garmin systems—GPS, autopilot, and radar—along with two VHF radios and a Fusion Bluetooth music system in multiple locations. Navigation and entertainment systems integrate throughout. Spreader lights and LED underwater lighting are fitted.
The engines logged approximately 1500 hours and were serviced in March 2021. The generator and auxiliary genset were also serviced at that time. Six new group 31 AGM batteries support the electrical system. Deck finishes include synthetic teak, and the hull wears a seafoam and oyster white Awlgrip paint with Phifertex window shades. A large swim platform and generous aft deck complete the outdoor layout.
