This 1998 Freedom 35 is a fiberglass cruising sailboat designed for blue-water sailing and easy single-handed operation. At 35 feet with a 12-foot beam, the yacht features a two-cabin, one-head layout with notable woodwork throughout. The galley sits to port and is arranged for both cruising and entertaining, while the head includes a separate shower stall. Power comes from a Yanmar 3GM30F 27-horsepower diesel engine paired with a 2-blade Flexofold propeller.
The sailing rig includes a fully battened mainsail and camberspar jib installed in 2014, along with a cruising spinnaker, single-line reefing, and electric winches from Harken. Navigation systems include a Raymarine ST60 multi-function display with autopilot, a new Zeus S 8-inch chartplotter, B&G 4G radar, and an AIS transponder. The boat carries a 2000-watt inverter and charger, shore power capability, and multiple battery banks updated in 2022. Electronics also include a Simrad VHF radio with wireless handset.
Recent upgrades and maintenance are extensive. The engine received new mounts, exhaust components, and related hoses between 2019 and 2024. The hull was media blasted and barrier coated in 2016. Interior and cockpit cushions, covers, and canvas work including dodger and Bimini were replaced or renewed in 2023 and 2024, along with new raw water pump and engine hoses. The alternator and chartplotter were updated in 2025. Fuel capacity is 35 gallons, with 120 gallons of water storage and a 45-gallon holding tank. A custom winter cover is included.
