The Henriques 28 Express is a fiberglass sportfish designed for both offshore canyon work and shallow-water bay fishing. Built on the proven Jack Henriques design, this 1998 model measures 28 feet in length with a 10-foot beam and draws 2 feet 11 inches. Power comes from two rebuilt Volvo Penta TAMD 41 PA diesel engines producing 200 horsepower each, with 340 hours since complete overhaul. The boat cruises at 23 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 29 knots, achieving 1.5 miles per gallon at cruise speed. Fuel capacity stands at 220 gallons with a 30-gallon water tank and 20-gallon holding tank.
The 70-square-foot cockpit provides serious fishing workspace with two insulated fishboxes, a livewell, a transom door, and Rupp outriggers. A full hardtop tower with controls and steering extends visibility and functionality. The single cabin offers a V-bunk berth, a full standup head with shower, and a galley equipped with a microwave. Additional seating in the dinette accommodates the crew comfortably. Air conditioning and heat maintain interior comfort.
Recent service includes water pump impeller replacement, bottom paint and propeller servicing in January 2025, and a new Isinglass enclosure and helm covers in September 2025. A new Raymarine digital radar system with 12-inch Axiom+ display, GPS, and echo sounder was installed in September 2025, complementing the existing 12-inch Garmin GPS chart plotter. Transmissions were rebuilt in 2024 and 2025, with new shafts, packing, and cutlass bearing installed in 2021. A new water heater was fitted in 2023, along with fresh main engine strainers and through-hull fittings. Trim tabs, fresh and salt water wash-down systems, dual VHF radios, and spreader lighting complete the equipment package.
