This 1998 Maxweld Cuddy Hardtop is a heavily constructed aluminum offshore platform built with commercial-grade materials and methods uncommon in recreational boats this size. The hull uses 5086 marine-grade aluminum with .190" bottom plating and .160" side plating, reinforced by five stringers, full transverse and longitudinal bulkheads, and six vertical ribs per side. The progressive deadrise—18° at the transom rising to 36° forward—combines with reverse chines and four lifting strakes to deliver offshore capability. Originally designed for inboard power, the boat was professionally converted in 2019 to twin 2016 Honda BF150 four-stroke outboards showing approximately 190 hours. These are paired with hydraulic steering, dual controls, and trim tabs.
The pilothouse and cuddy cabin provide genuine all-weather protection with 6'2" of interior headroom, insulated and carpeted surfaces, excellent visibility through multiple tinted windows and ports, and a Lewmar overhead hatch. Below, a forward V-berth and dinette seating for four (converting to a second berth) serve overnight trips. The galley includes a Wallas diesel stove with integral blower heater, AC/DC refrigerator, stainless sink, manual freshwater pump, and chemical toilet—practical offshore equipment designed for reliability over complexity.
The self-bailing transom deck was designed specifically for fishing work, with two in-deck self-draining fish boxes, full-length under-gunnel storage, two Walker electric downriggers, and welded deck lighting throughout. The boat carries comprehensive navigation and fish-finding electronics: primary Garmin 1242XSV multifunction display, GT50M transducer, and GMR 18XHD radar, backed by a Furuno FCV-582L fish finder. An ICOM VHF radio, Uniden CB with weather, and dual trim tab gauges round out the systems. A welded pivoting crab pot boom and radar arch reflect its offshore utility purpose. The 130-gallon fuel capacity, dual batteries, dual fuel-water separators, and redundant bilge systems support extended offshore operation. A custom galvanized dual-axle trailer with recent axle, leaf spring, and stainless hardware replacement is included.
