This 1998 Meta Custom is a 57-foot aluminum sailing yacht built for extended ocean cruising and live-aboard comfort. Designed by Jean Pierre Brouns with a 12mm aluminum hull and aluminum decks, she carries two Nanni N4.80 diesel engines (80 hp each, installed 2021 with approximately 1,150 hours) that deliver a cruising speed of 7.5 knots and a maximum speed of 9.5 knots. Twin propellers and a 5,000-liter fuel capacity support long-range passages, while a Fisher Panda 10kVA generator, 800-amp LiFePO4 battery bank (2021), 500-watt solar panels, and a 400-watt wind generator provide robust power generation and storage. The comprehensive sail inventory includes two mainsails, genoa, solent, Code 0, and asymmetric spinnaker—all replaced in 2024 from Doyle Sails—paired with new rigging (2024), two Profurl furlers, and Harken winches throughout.
The open saloon spans 4 meters in length with 2.1 meters headroom and accommodates three private double cabins providing berths for up to nine persons. The galley features a Techimpex gas range with oven and grill (2022), a 135-liter refrigeration unit with Danfoss compressor, and an Aquaset watermaker producing 180 liters per hour (2022). Additional amenities include a Miele washing machine (2023), hot water heater, two heads with manual Lavac pumps, large shower facilities including a platform shower, abundant storage throughout, and a Bose 300-watt sound system. Climate control is provided by a Refleks diesel stove with radiators in all cabins and bathrooms.
Navigation and safety systems were comprehensively upgraded in 2022: Raymarine electronics include a Quantum 2 Doppler radar, AXIOM Pro 12 RVX cartography display, P70s autopilot with professional hydraulic pump, and dual 170S instruments with wind and depth capability. Communication equipment comprises a VHF with GMDSS/AIS, HF radio (Icom IC-M710), and Inmarsat C. Ground tackle consists of a 1,800-watt Lofranc electric windlass (2024), 100 meters of 12mm chain, three 100-meter hawsers, and dual anchors (35kg Delta, 25kg CQR).
A comprehensive refit completed in 2021–2022 included hull and deck repainting, new mattresses and saloon cushions, full engine and generator replacement, new battery and electrical systems, and a new windlass. The hull received its latest antifouling in 2024 and is equipped with an ultrasonic antifouling system. Additional equipment includes davits with hoists, a rigid eight-person dinghy with 15hp Yamaha outboard, and two awnings (one new). The boat carries
