The Saga 43 is a 43-foot fiberglass sailing yacht designed by naval architect Robert Perry and built by Saga Yachts in Ontario. One of only 55 hulls produced, this 1998 model was built with offshore capability as its priority. Her design emphasizes balance and efficiency over interior volume, with a 12-foot beam and moderate displacement that deliver responsive handling and comfortable motion at sea. The yacht regularly achieves 6 to 7 knot cruising speeds and is optimized for short-handed sailing, featuring a self-tacking jib and cockpit-led controls suitable for couples or singlehanded operation.
Below deck, the layout includes five cabins and four heads arranged for practical cruising. The interior features a proper navigation station, a secure galley, and quality joinery throughout. The yacht carries generous fuel and water tankage, supported by a single 56 hp Yammer diesel engine that provides reliable auxiliary power for extended offshore passages with minimal dependence on marinas.
Recent upgrades include new standing rigging, a full topside and deck Awlgrip paint job completed in 2019, and a complete new sail inventory from North Sails finished in 2023. A nearly brand new AB dinghy and a brand new 15 hp Yamaha engine are included with the boat, both in excellent condition. The yacht reflects continuous care and refinement from experienced offshore use, with tens of thousands of miles logged by her current owners.
