1998 Waterline Passage Maker

This 53-foot steel trawler was custom-built by Waterline Yachts in Sidney, British Columbia, with design intent for long-range ocean cruising. Twin Cat/Perkins diesel engines of 220 horsepower each drive the boat to a cruising speed of 7.5 knots, where fuel consumption runs approximately 3 gallons per hour. At that speed, the boat carries a range of 4,000 nautical miles with a 10 percent fuel reserve. The hull is steel; cooling is keel-cooled.

The boat has logged substantial nautical miles and has been actively cruised throughout the Pacific Northwest. The beam of 16.25 feet provides the stability and interior volume expected of a passagemaking trawler designed for extended passages and ocean crossings.
