The Cruisers Yachts 3870 Esprit is a 38-foot fiberglass express cruiser built with a design philosophy that breaks from typical midcabin constraints. Twin 7.4-liter MPI MerCruiser engines producing 770 horsepower deliver a top speed of 31 mph and cruising speed around 25 mph, pairing express performance with a surprisingly open interior layout. The boat sleeps six across two cabins: a forward stateroom with a queen island berth and abundant storage, and a second cabin with convertible twin double berths that can transform into a king with an included filler cushion.
The accommodations center on a light-filled salon with a convertible dinette that doubles as sleeping berth, paired with an updated galley equipped with refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and electric stove. Two heads serve the interior—a main head with a stand-up shower offering full headroom, and a private second head with changing area and full headroom, both refreshed in 2022 with Corian counters, stainless steel sinks, and updated fixtures. A spacious cockpit with wrap-around rear seating, wet bar, and optional extended swim platform complete the exterior design.
Recent upgrades span 2022 through 2024. The galley and aft head received complete renewals with new Corian counters and fixtures in 2022, along with fresh triple-foam bedding throughout, vinyl plank flooring in the galley, and a new complete canvas camper top. All wastewater hoses were replaced that same year. The propulsion system received new risers and exhaust in 2023, while the electrical system was upgraded with 600-watt solar panels, a 200-amp-hour house battery bank, and a 3,000-watt Victron inverter charger. Navigation electronics were updated in 2024 with new Garmin displays at 9 and 7 inches plus radar.
