1999 Custom Gerald Stevens Designed 44 Schooner

This 44-foot schooner was designed by Gerald Stevens and built to prioritize straightforward, efficient sailing. The hull is constructed with laminated frames and strip-planked wood, sealed with epoxy and fiberglass, while the fiberglass-covered plywood decks provide durability. Aluminum masts carry modern standing and running rigging, with a fixed backstay that simplifies handling. The headsail features roller furling and self-tacking mechanics, reducing the complexity of sail management underway.

Below deck, the interior is finished with a galley, chart table, and comfortable dinette. Accommodation includes sleeping berths for six and a fully enclosed head with an optional shower. The single Westerbeke 31 hp diesel engine drives a feathering propeller for efficient power when needed.

The sail plan includes a mainsail, foresail, and jib all renewed in 2021, plus a gaff foresail and gaff. This combination of modern and traditional sail options reflects the schooner's versatile design.
