1999 Hunter Passage 420

This 1999 Hunter Passage 420 is a center-cockpit cruising sailboat built for extended offshore passages and comfortable living aboard. At 43 feet, it's the only Hunter model to carry a CE Category A (Ocean) rating, reflecting its design for blue-water capability. The fiberglass hull is powered by a 2014 Yanmar diesel engine with approximately 680 hours of use.

The layout centers on a full-beam aft master cabin with a walk-around centerline queen berth, complemented by a second cabin and two heads. Dual reverse-cycle air conditioning and heating systems with integrated dehumidification serve both forward and aft spaces, while an onboard generator supplies power. The boat carries an in-mast furling mainsail with electric winch for simplified sail handling, and is equipped with a Maxwell windlass, dual anchors (Rocna primary and Bruce storm), stainless steel davits, and a hard-top cockpit with full enclosure.

Recent maintenance reflects careful stewardship. The aft air conditioning unit, dehumidifier, and heater were replaced in 2022. New isinglass, head hoses, and refrigeration pump were installed in 2024, along with propane tank recertification and sail batten replacement with full sail service. Electronic navigation charts were updated in 2023, and the engine battery was replaced in 2025. Annual engine and generator servicing was completed in 2025.
