The Shamrock 219 Open is a 22-foot center console built on a fiberglass hull with a 9-foot beam, designed for offshore fishing and family cruising. The tall gunnels provide safety for children, and the modest 22-inch draft allows access to shallow waters. Power comes from a single 300 hp Mercruiser 350 V8 inboard engine with fresh water cooling, delivering a cruising speed of 18 knots and a maximum speed of 27 knots. The boat consumes approximately 7 gallons per hour at cruise. Twin 40-gallon fuel tanks provide range, and hydraulic trim tabs help maintain smooth running in varied sea conditions. The propeller sits in a tunnel beneath the hull, recessed safely away from swimmers using the large swim platform positioned 2 feet aft of the running gear.
The open layout suits both fishing and water sports, pulling tubes, skiers, wakeboarders, and wake surfers without difficulty. The beam makes the boat feel substantially larger than comparable 22-foot vessels in its class.
The engine was replaced in 2011 with a fresh unit, and current hours stand just over 300. Maintenance has been annual. A full engine service was completed in summer 2024, including a new impeller and exhaust risers. The seats were replaced with new foam and Sunbrella marine vinyl at the beginning of 2025. Bottom paint and prop speed coating on the running gear were applied a year ago. The engine is run monthly. A 2021 model trailer is included.
