The 1999 Viking 43 Convertible is a fiberglass fishing and cruising boat powered by an 800-horsepower MAN V8 engine. The boat carries 525 gallons of fuel and 150 gallons of fresh water, with a water maker for extended cruising. Power generation comes from a 12.5-kilowatt Onan generator.
The layout includes a master stateroom with full bed and a second cabin fitted with four bunk beds. There is a full bathroom with shower, galley with two-burner stove, microwave, and refrigerator-freezer, plus a separate cockpit freezer. The saloon has a sofa and stools. Navigation equipment includes Furuno fish and depth finder, Garmin GPS, autopilot with new computer, and two VHF radios. Sound systems have been installed in the bridge and cabin.
Recent work includes a new refrigeration unit in the cockpit freezer, new bridge sound system with speakers, new cabin sound system, new computer for the autopilot, hydraulic steering refurbished, wheel controls and pulpit recently restored, new through-hull sea cocks and hoses throughout, new engine exhaust hoses, and a new oil change system pump motor. The fighting chair was recently restored, and bridge companion chairs have had all metal parts replaced. Canvas covers for the stern and companion chairs are new.
The boat is outfitted for fishing with Rupp outriggers and spreaders with professional gear, a restored fighting chair, and ten rod holders. Safety equipment includes ten life jackets, new flares kit, portable and bridge horns, and three bilge pumps. Bow anchor with davit and hydraulic steering complete the setup.
