2000 Carver 450 Voyager Pilothouse

This 2000 Carver 450 Voyager Pilothouse is a 45-foot diesel-powered cruising yacht built on a composite hull. Twin Cummins engines deliver 900 horsepower combined, with cruise speeds of 17–18 knots and a top speed of 22–23 knots. The boat draws 3 feet 7 inches and has a bridge clearance of 24 feet with antennas raised. Fuel capacity is 560 gallons, supporting extended voyages at 32–36 gallons per hour combined burn.

The accommodations include a two-stateroom, two-head layout with a spacious midship master featuring a 2021 mattress and newly installed air conditioning. A forward VIP guest stateroom provides additional sleeping quarters. The master also offers an under-bed storage area with spare parts. A third stateroom has been converted to a large storage and workshop space. The galley features solid-surface countertops, a refrigerator, electric range top, microwave, Breville convection oven, icemaker, and ample cabinet storage. The salon includes tinted windows and a sliding door with additional wall and ceiling insulation. LED lighting runs throughout the interior, and new carpet was installed in 2019.

Electronics and systems reflect recent upgrades: a Raymarine Axiom navigation suite with dual helm displays, satellite TV with three sets, and bullet Wi-Fi. The electrical infrastructure includes a Magnum sinewave inverter, three 325Ah gel house batteries, two 320-watt solar panels with Outback controls, a Kohler 13.5 kW generator, and dual 50-amp shore power inlets with a 65-foot electric reel cable. A watermaker, fuel polishing system, bow thruster, and custom trim tabs support extended cruising. Recent mechanical work includes new exhaust elbows and boots, replacement of all below-waterline hoses, and Prop Speed coating on underwater running gear. The windlass was replaced in 2016 with 250 feet of new anchor chain and a 73-pound Rocna anchor.

The pilothouse layout offers excellent sightlines for navigation, with a bridge tonneau cover and custom exterior window shades. Deck equipment includes a rebuilt davit with new cable and slip covers for five to six fenders. An ACR EPIRB provides emergency signaling. The boat includes detailed maintenance records documenting consistent care and thoughtful system upgrades throughout its ownership history.
