2000 Hinckley Picnic Boat 36 Classic

This 2000 Hinckley Picnic Boat 36 Classic is a composite-hulled downeast design with a 10-foot beam and a single 420-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine. The boat cruises at 20 knots with a top speed of 26 knots, powered by a Hamilton 292 jet drive and Twin Disc transmission. A Vetus 7-inch bow thruster with joystick control provides maneuvering capability throughout the vessel.

The pilothouse and accommodations are finished in varnished cherry and teak. Forward is a V-berth with storage beneath and in the forepeak, followed by a private head with shower and teak cabinetry. The galley sits to port with a two-burner Force 10 stove, Adler-Barbour refrigeration, microwave, and deep stainless steel sink. The pilothouse itself features varnished teak surfaces, a teak instrument pod, and a Stidd captain's chair with electric adjustment and proportional hydraulic drive.

Navigation and helm equipment include a Simrad GPS chartplotter with radar, Simrad autopilot, and DSC VHF radio, all installed in 2022. The cockpit is appointed with a varnished teak coaming, removable engine box seat, and teak drink table. A fiberglass swim platform with teak treads and stainless steel folding ladder sits aft, while a Switlik four-person life raft is stowed on deck.

Recent work includes new upholstery and galley countertops in 2025, a new bow thruster motor and five-blade prop in 2022, new Bomar hatches, Espar central heating with ducted distribution, new Fusion stereo system with six speakers and 800-watt amplifier, and new cockpit cover and scuppers. The hull carries its original Flag Blue Awlgrip with cream bootstripe and cabin house, while the teak toerail, teak cockpit sole, and interior teak-and-holly cabin sole remain prominent design features.
