2000 Hinckley Picnic Boat Classic

This 37-foot Hinckley Picnic Boat Classic combines traditional downeast styling with composite hull construction. The flag green hull features a double cream bootstripe and is paired with a light cream cabinhouse and deck. Powered by a single 420-horsepower Yammer diesel engine, the boat cruises at 23 knots. The hull itself is built from Kevlar E-glass hybrid and balsa core, reinforced with carbon fiber inner skins and scrimped with vinylester resin. The deck and cockpit sole incorporate molded-in nonskid patterning for safety underway.

The expansive cockpit is designed for relaxed cruising and entertaining. An oversized windshield provides weather protection, while removable cushions outfit the seating areas, which extend across the engine bay and aft. A collapsible bimini top offers sun protection and stows neatly above the full cockpit cover. Below deck, the helm features a Hinckley JetStick control system, Simrad 3Gradar, and a Simrad evo2 plotter alongside a Stidd helm seat.

The cabin accommodates two overnight guests with a forward centerline v-berth featuring a center insert and cushion for a full-width bed, plus abundant storage for clothing and gear. The starboard head includes a vanity and shower. The galley on the portside is equipped with a microwave, top-loading refrigerator, sink, two-burner cooktop, and extensive drawer and shelf storage.

The aft swim platform is heavy-duty fiberglass with teak surfaces, stainless steel brackets, and half-round. A stainless folding swim ladder and custom vertical handrail on the starboard transom complete the exterior details. The interior exhibits skilled carpentry throughout, with striped and upgraded cushions providing a classic ambiance.
