The Leopard 38 is a proven catamaran design built for extended cruising. This 2000 example measures 37 feet with a 21-foot beam and is powered by twin Yanmar diesel engines of 78 horsepower each, installed in 2022 with 695 hours on them. The yacht cruises comfortably at 6.5 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 9 knots while burning approximately 2.5 litres of fuel per hour. Fiberglass construction throughout.
The layout provides three cabins and two heads, with an open saloon featuring nearly two metres of headroom and panoramic windows. The galley sits in the upper position with a Force 10 LPG stove and oven, microwave, and 12V refrigeration. Saloon seating converts to a guest berth. Both design and layout are suited to liveaboard cruising or extended passages.
Recent upgrades include new standing rigging and a full suit of Dacron sails fitted to a Geneo single-line furler, completed in 2025. The propulsion system was enhanced with Autostream folding propellers. Power generation and storage comprise 1170 watts of solar panels, three 200Ah Victron lithium house batteries with integrated battery management, a 3000-watt inverter-charger, and a 2000kVA portable generator. Navigation and entertainment systems include Raymarine autopilot and instruments, Icom VHF radio with DSC, and stereo with 12V television.
The yacht carries a custom hard bimini with clear panels, a Rocna anchor with 100 metres of chain, and a Lofrans windlass. Included is a new Aurora 2.9-metre Hypalon tender with a Yamaha 9.9-horsepower outboard engine. Antifouling was completed in January 2025. The boat is fitted with EPIRB, flares, life jackets, and both manual and electric bilge pumps.
