The 2000 Mainship Pilot 34 is a fiberglass cruiser powered by a single 300-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine. It reaches a top speed of 17 knots and cruises efficiently at 8 knots, delivering around 4 miles per gallon at 7 knots. A bow thruster assists with maneuvering in tight spaces. The helm benefits from clear sightlines and is equipped with current electronics including an autopilot capable of steering to a heading or following routes programmed into the chartplotter, which offers automatic course routing between waypoints. The boat features a full weather enclosure for protection in various conditions.

Below deck, the cabin layout makes efficient use of space. The salon holds a large U-shaped dinette with a mahogany table that converts into a bed, paired with a galley offering ample counter and storage space. A separate head compartment contains a freshwater flush toilet, sink, and shower wand. The forward stateroom is accessed through a privacy door and features a V berth convertible between two single bunks or one large bed. A removable ladder provides access to the foredeck and anchor via an overhead hatch.

The boat operates on a solar panel and lithium battery system that powers all AC and DC devices without requiring a generator, eliminating generator noise, fuel consumption, and carbon monoxide hazards when at rest. All Yanmar-recommended maintenance has been performed as needed.
