The 2000 Sea Ray 280 Bow Rider is a 27.5-foot fiberglass runabout built for entertaining. Its single 7.4L MPI Bravo III MerCruiser engine produces 310 horsepower, enabling cruising speeds around 30 knots and a maximum speed of 35 knots. The cockpit layout accommodates numerous passengers with large circular aft seating, bow seating, and a side-facing configuration. Storage is distributed throughout: bow and side storage compartments, cockpit side panel storage, dedicated anchor storage with hatch access, and lighted floor storage with custom snap-in synthetic flooring.
The cockpit features a molded dash, burl instrument panel, and an Italian mahogany tilt steering wheel. Interior amenities include a wet bar with trash bins and refrigerator, a fixed cockpit table, and an updated Fusion AM-FM/Bluetooth stereo system with amplifier and six speakers. The bow section includes a table convertible to a sunpad with matching filler cushions. A walk-through curved glass windshield and Sunbrella Bimini top provide weather protection.
Mechanically, the boat is equipped with power steering, power tilt and trim, hydraulic trim tabs, automatic bilge pump and high-water alarm, automatic forward sump pump, audible engine alarms for oil and water, halon system, depth finder, and compass. A swim platform with concealed stainless steel ladder and freshwater washdown with cockpit shower complete the package.
The seating was re-covered in recent years with custom pillows and stitching. Custom covers are approximately four years old. An electrically operated engine hatch provides access to the powerplant. The self-bailing fiberglass cockpit liner minimizes maintenance needs. Stainless steel hardware and high-performance vinyl resin construction are standard throughout.
