The 2000 West Bay 58 SonShip is a classic Pacific Northwest pilothouse cruiser with a proven design that balanced performance and comfort for extended cruising. At 58 feet with a 17-foot beam, she carries a substantial profile while remaining relatively light for her size class. Twin Caterpillar 3406 engines rated at 800 horsepower each deliver economical cruising at 10 knots or a top end around 25–26 knots, making passage-making across open water practical without sacrificing fuel efficiency.
The interior centers on a raised pilothouse with 360-degree visibility through wraparound windows that extend into the salon. Three staterooms provide accommodation: a full-beam master aft with ensuite head and washer/dryer, a spacious VIP forward, and a midship guest cabin with over-under bunks. The main salon features an American leather convertible sofa to port and built-in credenza to starboard. Forward of the salon, the galley is fully appointed with full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, trash compactor, and convection microwave, with dinette seating to starboard. A second head serves the guest cabins. Interior finishes are light varnished wood brightened by natural light throughout.
The flybridge is accessed from the pilothouse and offers twin helm seats at the centerline station, wrap-around seating, and a wetbar to port. The cockpit features teak decking and leads aft to a generous lazarette. Davit systems with stainless cradles are rigged for a tender and liferaft. Dual generators and a dive compressor are installed. The engine room is well-lit, spacious, and easily accessible.
