2001 Caliber 47LRC

The Caliber 47LRC is a substantial cruising sailboat built to withstand demanding conditions. Her fiberglass hull incorporates extra-thick layering at impact points, with a watertight collision bulkhead and rudder dam for flood protection. The high ballast-to-displacement ratio makes her exceptionally stable in rough water. The center cockpit is designed for short-handed operation, with all control lines led aft and instrument displays positioned for visibility from multiple vantage points. A hardtop dodger provides weather protection and supports two 100-watt solar panels. Abundant deck storage includes four lockers plus a well-equipped anchor platform, and a transom-mounted swim ladder and boarding platform facilitate dinghy access.

Below decks, accommodations span two full staterooms plus a convertible settee berth, sleeping four to six. The owner's aft stateroom features a centerline island berth, cedar-lined lockers, and private access to a dual-entry head with combination washer and dryer. The forward stateroom offers an offset double berth, hanging locker, vanity, and adjoins a head with separate shower stall. The main salon provides 6'6" of headroom, an L-shaped settee convertible to a double berth, a folding dining table, and a dedicated nav station with generous electronics workspace. Teak and holly sole, teak bulkheads, and cedar cabinetry throughout reflect quality construction.

The galley features a 10-foot counter, Force 10 four-burner propane stove with oven, separate Sea Frost refrigerator and freezer (dual voltage), double sinks with spray unit, microwave, and extensive storage. Hot and cold pressure water is supplied with manual backup. Ventilation throughout is excellent, with 18 opening ports, four hatches, two deck cowls, and cabin fans.

Power comes from a single 75-horsepower Yammer diesel engine. The sail plan totals 1,014 square feet across a North full-batten mainsail with boom furling, a Doyle 135-percent jib on roller furling, and Doyle staysail. Electric winches and an 8,000-watt Fischer Panda genset support extended cruising. Dual battery banks, solar panels with MPPT controller, comprehensive electronics including chartplotter, autopilot, SSB, and AIS round out the systems. A Lofrans windlass with dual anchors completes the ground tackle.
