2001 Catalina 36 MkII

The Catalina 36 MkII is a proven cruising design known for manageable handling and spacious accommodations. This 2001 example features a wing keel with shoal draft of 4 feet 6 inches, making her suitable for shallow-water cruising. The boat carries a Universal M-35B 30-horsepower diesel engine with 1,882 hours, backed by recent service work including a new exhaust riser, engine realignment, dripless shaft seal, and raw water pump service completed in 2025.

The interior follows the classic Catalina 36 Mark II layout with two cabins. Forward is a large V-berth with a double insert and private head access; a hanging locker provides storage. The main salon features an L-shaped settee to port with teak dining table and a nav station to starboard. An aft double cabin sits beyond the nav station. The sole is teak and holly throughout, except in galley and head areas. The U-shaped galley includes a Hillerange propane stove with two burners and oven, top-loading ice box with 12V refrigeration, and stainless steel double sink with pressurized hot and cold water.

Deck equipment includes a Maxwell electric windlass with foredeck anchor locker, stainless steel folding swim ladder with teak treads, and dual boarding gates. Sails are relatively recent—a 2017 Ulman 135% genoa and 2018 Ulman mainsail, both roller-furling, plus a cruising spinnaker with sock. Raymarine chartplotter, autopilot, and radar antenna support navigation, alongside Raytheon speed and wind instruments and a Standard Horizon VHF radio. An Achilles 8-foot inflatable dinghy with Yamaha 2-hp outboard is included. The 12V electrical system has two 4D batteries installed in 2024 and a deep cycle starting battery from 2023. A three-piece winter cover from 2022 and cockpit dodger and bimini are on board.
