2001 Contender 27 Open

This 2001 Contender 27 Open is a 30-foot center console fishing boat powered by twin Suzuki 300 engines delivering 600 hp total. The fiberglass hull carries an 8.83-foot beam and features an open layout with a T-top, isinglass windscreen with side wings, and a fully functional second helm station.

The boat has been extensively updated through 2023. The engines received new lower units in 2022, along with four-blade Watergrip 15 1/4 x 22 propellers. Fuel system components, saltwater and fresh water pumps, and bilge equipment were replaced or serviced in 2022 and 2023. Engine management includes Suzuki start/stop and ignition panels installed in June 2023, a battery switch replaced in 2023, and oil and lower unit service completed in September 2023.

Electronics are comprehensive: a GPSMAP 8616 XSV chartplotter with Garmin Fantom 18 radome and transom transducer, Reactor 40 SmartPump V2 autopilot with GHC 20 instrument, and an Icom VHF radio. A Promariner ProSport HD20 Plus 20-amp three-bank charger was installed in 2022 with an onboard charger added in 2023. Audio equipment includes a Fusion hideaway system and JL Audio speakers throughout, powered by an MMATS amplifier.

The boat features Seablaze underwater lights (three installed July 2023), Lumitec Caprera 2 spreader lights, a Rigid light bar, and Rupp double outrigger rigs. The live well has new plumbing and an etched Contender lid. Upholstery, marine matting, and all topside gel coat and non-skid were refreshed in 2022. Rod holders, a Fortress anchor, and custom covers complete the package. The boat includes a Contender trailer with float work done in July 2022.
