This 2001 Contender 31 Open is a fiberglass sportfish powered by twin Yamaha engines producing 600 horsepower combined. The boat features a 31-foot length with a 9-foot-4-inch beam, designed for offshore fishing and open-water performance.
The layout includes twin stern tuna tubs, a coffin box, and an Eagle Bob T-top for weather protection and visibility. A fresh water tank and clear live well lids support extended fishing operations. The helm features a new sea star tilt system with twin tournament rams and a custom push button switch panel. Storage and rigging include a stern rod rack and rear ladder.
Electronics are comprehensive, with twin Garmin 1242XSV displays in a custom panel, Garmin 18 HD radar, Garmin GXM54 module, and an NMEA system. Navigation and communication are supported by a B164 through-hull transducer and dual antennas. The audio system includes a Fusion RA670 head unit with multiple speakers.
Recent upgrades and maintenance include new twin Yamaha 300 engines with warranty through January 2028 at 270 hours of use, fresh water and saltwater washdown pumps, new bilge and live well pumps, K-plane hydraulic trim tabs, underwater lights, twin Lumitec spreader lights, Lumitec cabin light, Taco LED T-top light, new Gemlux latches throughout, and new console surround curtains. An included trailer is equipped with new hubs, LED lights, brakes, six new tires, and two spares.
