2001 Contest 55CS

The 2001 Contest 55CS is a fiberglass sailing yacht built for both comfort and ease of handling. At nearly 55 feet with a 15-foot beam, she carries a single 135-horsepower Perkins diesel engine. Her sail plan includes a mainsail, genoa, and cutter, all hydraulically operated with electric winches for manageable two-person sailing.

The interior is appointed with practical comfort in mind, featuring a C-shaped settee on the starboard side and integrated accommodation for extended cruising. Heating and air conditioning, radar, chartplotter, and davits with an outboard lift complete the core equipment list.

Recent upgrades include new sails, a replacement refrigerator and freezer, fresh air conditioning, new batteries, and renewed thru-hulls. The comprehensive hydraulic sail handling system allows the yacht to be sailed efficiently by a small crew while maintaining the ease and reliability expected of this modern classic design.
