This 2001 Custom Ville Audrain 45 is a fiberglass catamaran designed by Erik Lerouge and built using vacuum-infused epoxy with Airex foam sandwich construction and monolithic epoxy bottoms. The hull design delivers the strength, rigidity, and light weight characteristic of Lerouge's work. Powered by twin Volvo Penta diesel engines of 60 horsepower each, the catamaran achieves a cruising speed of 7 knots with a maximum speed of 9 knots.
The boat accommodates three cabins and one head, offering functional cruising quarters. The layout includes a redesigned saloon with enlarged access, a helm station with wheel steering, and an aft deck featuring extended sugar scoops with integrated crashboxes and swim access. A rigid bimini with solar integration tops the helm area.
From 2016 through 2023, the yacht underwent a comprehensive two-phase professional refit that replaced or upgraded all major systems. Work included new Z-Spars mast and standing rigging, new Volvo D1-30 engines with saildrives (approximately 670 hours), new generator, complete electronics suite, lithium battery bank, dual independent autopilot systems, new rudders and steering systems, and an extensive new sail inventory. The electrical and power systems feature solar panels, a hydrogenerator, and a 65-liter-per-hour watermaker. Navigation and connectivity equipment includes Garmin radar, AIS, Raymarine electronics, and Starlink.
