This 90-foot steel-hulled expedition yacht was built in 2001 to the renowned Doggersbank design by Kuipers Woudsend, with oversight by Vriack. She features two Caterpillar diesel engines producing 600 horsepower and cruises at 10 knots. A comprehensive refit spanning 2020 to 2024 rebuilt her from the keel up, replacing or upgrading every major system throughout the boat.
Mechanically, the work included complete rewiring, new hydraulic systems for the bow and stern thrusters, stabilizers, and steering, plus a full rebuild of both main engines and generators. The fuel system, crankcase, transmission, and both engine shafts were replaced. New systems installed include the HVAC, sewage treatment, fire detection and suppression, freshwater maker, and yacht management monitoring. All tanks were re-coated and approximately 70 percent of piping replaced. A new hot water storage system with three segregated heat exchangers was added alongside upgraded bilge pumps throughout the boat.
The bridge was redesigned with redundant electronics, new navigation systems, and an internal IT network with security cameras. Structurally, the hull was repainted in Awlgrip Flag Blue, the deckhouse in Awlgripe Matterhorn White, and the bottom completely sandblasted and repainted with Micron Extra Black antifouling. Both anchors and chain were replaced.
Below decks, the yacht was reconfigured with entirely new crew quarters, and all interior joinery was refinished or replaced. New cabin soles and carpeting were laid throughout, and all lighting—interior and exterior—was upgraded to LED. The boat accommodates six cabins and eight heads.
