The Grand Soleil 70 is a 71-foot sailing yacht built in 2001 by Cantiere del Pardo, with design by Umberto Felci. This fiberglass boat combines responsive sailing performance with substantial cruising comfort. The hull employs Kevlar sandwich construction with epoxy resin and PVC core, creating a lightweight yet rigid structure. An aluminum mast with three pairs of spreaders supports a full suite of sails, including a fully battened mainsail, two gennakers, a furling genoa, and cutter jib. The boat is equipped with a Yanmar diesel engine rated at 167 hp, a retractable bow thruster, electric winches, electric furling, Raymarine navigation electronics with radar and dual chart plotters, AIS, and autopilot—all designed to allow comfortable handling with a small crew.
The interior is finished in teak throughout and organized across four cabins and four heads. The owner's cabin forward includes a dedicated work area and ensuite facilities. The main saloon features a spacious U-shaped bench and sideboard, opening to a deck saloon with panoramic windows. The galley is equipped with a Force10 four-burner stove and oven, dual stainless steel refrigerators, and a separate freezer. A double-insulated technical room houses the engine, generator, pumps, and tool storage in an accessible, professional layout.
The boat underwent extensive refitting in 2011 at Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel, during which the technology, interior, and equipment were modernized. The teak deck was renewed in 2019, and exterior hull paint was refreshed in 2025. Additional equipment includes an electric bathing platform, dinghy garage, hi-fi and television system, and a tender with electric motor.
