The 2001 Intrepid 289 is a 28-foot center console walkaround built on the brand's reputation for seaworthy offshore design. Power comes from twin Mercury Verado 225s (approximately 1,300 hours) with a plug-and-play PCM upgrade available to 300 horsepower each. New power steering pump and lines, steering ram and tie bar kit, shifter, and Lenco trim tabs support reliable performance. The boat underwent a comprehensive refit between 2021 and 2023, including full Awlgrip paint on topsides and hull, a new 195-gallon USCG-certified fuel tank with cold tar coating, and fresh fuel lines throughout.
The helm features a 12-inch Simrad Evo3 touchscreen, Mercury VesselView with Link, and Standard Horizon VHF with AIS. A new black acrylic dash panel houses Blue Sea systems, dual USB charging, and a battery charger mounted in the console. All rigging and wiring were replaced, with new Blue Sea fuse block and Series 285 breaker, Series 27 batteries, bilge pumps, macerator, and hoses installed during the refit.
The boat is configured as an open fishing platform with split livewells, outriggers, a rocket launcher on the T-Top, in-deck insulated fish box with macerator, freshwater washdown, self-bailing decks, and electric windlass with new anchor and chain. The extended T-Top and bow rail are powder-coated, with new canvas shade.
Below deck, a private head with sink occupies the cuddy alongside a convertible banquet sleeping berth and mini galley with sink and icebox storage. All upholstery and cushions are new. The boat is delivered on an Allstar triple axle trailer and has been maintained on-trailer since the repower.
