This 2001 Lowell 40 is a wooden Down East fly bridge cruiser built during the final years of Carroll Lowell's boat-building operation. The hull measures 40 feet in length with a beam of nearly 14 feet, providing a solid platform for extended cruising. Power comes from a single 500-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine.
The yacht accommodates one cabin with a single head, making her suited for owner operation or small-group cruising. The fly bridge configuration offers excellent sightlines and outdoor helm and entertaining space typical of the Down East design philosophy.
This example represents the later Lowell construction, completed in 2001 by the Lowell Brothers workshop.
