The 2001 Malibu Wakesetter VLX is a 21-foot fiberglass ski and wakeboard boat powered by a 325 hp Malibu engine. Built on the same hull used in the U.S. Open Water Ski and Wakeboard Championships, the boat is engineered for towing with predictable handling, low bow rise, and responsive control at lower speeds. The hull generates large, well-defined wakes suited to water skiing and wakeboarding, while its tight turning radius aids slow-speed maneuverability. A midship ballast tank system adds 500 pounds of dynamic weight at the flip of a switch, increasing wake shape for air time.
The interior features extra-padded bolsters with French stitching and premium vinyl upholstery. The helm includes a power driver's seat with lumbar support, zero-friction throttle cables, rack and pinion steering, and five-inch Servo gauges. Storage compartments are distributed throughout the cabin. The open bow provides comfortable seating for three adults and stretches across the beam's 7.75 feet.
Standard equipment includes a custom Bimini top, snap cover, and custom tandem axle trailer. The boat comes with a Barefoot International ski and barefoot training boom, four Hyperlite wakeboards, one wakeskate, two Slingshot wakesurf boards, three combo skis with ropes, and lifejackets in multiple sizes.
